A Grateful Look Back and An Exciting Look Forward!
As many of you know, The Revelation Series is coming to an end with the release of Restoration. This is a bittersweet moment for me. On the one hand, I’m thrilled to be able to share the last chapter of Eve and Asher’s story. On the other hand, I am terribly sad to being saying goodbye to these characters. And goodbye it is.
I’ve been asked quite a lot over the past few months if I will continue with the series. Perhaps, adding more books or granting Gage his very own novel. I’ve also received countless inquires and requests that each couple from the series have their own novella. At this moment in time, the answer to all of the above is nope. I realize it’s heartbreaking and I’m sorry. Let me take a quick moment to explain myself and then maybe you will forgive me – lol.
When I write, my philosophy is such, if a character or plotline doesn’t move the story forward, it doesn’t stay. I’m a big ‘editor’ and though I can be a tad bit descriptive in my world building, I try not to drone on and on about insignificant elements within a storyline. I prefer to give a reader just enough to keep you wanting to read forward. Does it always turn out that way? Probably not. I do my best, as we all can only do. This is the reason I prefer not to write novellas on the couples, or a complete novel dedicated to Gage. I know! I know! I suck.
In my opinion, it’s always graceful to leave on a high note. Throughout the series, it’s been my goal to leave you wanting more and loving these characters so much you’re begging me to just stop blogging and write the damn novellas. That said, if I were to give you a novella only focused on Callan and Abby, or McKenna and Keegan, you’d probably hate them and me at the end of it. It’s just the truth.
The reason why the series works is because you have layers of character development and personalities enhancing the storyline. In the darkest moments, Callan and Abby allow you to breathe. In times of unfocused story movement, Keegan and McKenna pull you back into the true meaning of the plot. Gage leaves you with an air of mystery and unease. And Asher and Eve bring love and hope into the fold. Without a well-balanced character grouping, the story would be flat and uninteresting. Thirty thousand words of Abby and Callan being cute and funny would grate on you after the first five minutes.
This is the reason I won’t write novellas about the characters as couples. This is also the reason I have no plans in the near future to write an entire novel about Gage. I know you love him. I am so beyond appreciative that you do. Gage is the wild card in the series. You never know where he stands. Throughout the books, I’ve given you bits and pieces of his story. Reasons why he is and does what he does. Brief glimpses into his future and heart. Right now, it’s all I’m willing to share with you because his full story has not spoken to me yet. I’m not sure if it will ever. Gage isn’t the HEA character. It would be not genuine to say otherwise.
Where does this leave us? Well, in an effort to help ease the ‘book hangover’ from The Revelation Series coming to a close, I have agreed to write The Royal Protector Academy. This will be a trilogy focused on Abby and Callan’s daughter, Serena, and Gage Gallagher’s son, Tristan.
RPA is my response to your requests for more of these damn gargoyles. I know Callan and Abby are reader favorites. Serena is a great mix of both. I can also tell you that references and perhaps even a few ‘guest appearances’ will happen. I’m going to show you a glimpse into Gage’s future through his son Tristan. It’s my hope that all Gage fans will fall in love with Tristan just as much.
RPA is slated to release in the spring of 2016 with book #1, Vernal. It will be a completely different story, so for those who have not read TheRevSeries before, you will be able to follow and enjoy these three books. For those who have, I hope you’ll be excited about the new storyline while appreciating the tiny hints and references to The Revelation Series.
I’m also very excited to introduce you to my new series, Dark Soul Series. This will also be a new adult, paranormal romance, featuring Stone (Prince Solis) and Hope. He’s the son of Lucifer and she’s a very powerful oracle. Supporting cast will include: Vassago and Lev, Stone’s demon friends, as well as, Lev’s sister Lore and Hope’s best friend-to-be Avi. This series is loosely based off of Dante’s Inferno. It will be much darker, but still just as raw, powerful and sexy. Dark Soul is tentatively slated to release in summer of 2016 with book #1, Dark Mind.
I hope you will consider taking both journey’s with me. In the meantime, I can’t wait for you to read Restoration. I hope it’s everything you wanted out of Asher and Eve’s epic love story. – Randi
